Admission Requirements and Application
General Requirements:
- Epidemiology Stream
applicants for the Diploma and M.Sc. degree must
hold a Bachelor's degree in a suitably related area. It is
highly recommended that students have a good knowledge of
differential and integral calculus at the level of a first
year undergraduate course.
- Biostatistics
Stream applicants - see IMPORTANT UPDATE regarding
Biostatistics Stream.
- Candidates for a Ph.D.
must hold a Master's degree in epidemiology and
biostatistics or its equivalent
- CGPA (3.2/4.0 over
the last two years of study)
- Test of English as a
Foreign Language (TOEFL) (see below for more
details)
- Graduate Record
Examination (GRE, general test) required by all
applicants (see below for more details)
TOEFL
Non-Canadian applicants to the
Graduate and Postdoctural Studies Office whose mother tongue is
not English and who have not completed an undergraduate degree
from a recognized institution where English is the language of
instruction are required to submit documented proof of
competency in oral and written English by appropriate exams,
e.g., TOEFL with a minimum score of 100 on the internet based
test, or a score of 600 on the paper based version of the TOEFL
test (or 250 on the older computer-based test), or IELTS
(minimum overall band of 6.5) before acceptance. Permanent
Residents may be required to submit a TOEFL score. Applications
will not be considered if TOEFL or IELTS is not available.
